I can be contacted on martin@kmprecisionengineering.com These are broken...... Ha, having finally gotten around to rebuilding this gearbox after lengthy pause, it seems you were spot on Martin, both planet gears appear to have become detached unfortunately. Any ideas where replacements can be obtained from?

ha ha, yes, Martin was able to supply me with a complete replacement gear train, already fitted, currently struggling to get the forward clutch to stay in position whilst i try and fitted the governor back on, should have fitted it first i feel lol
now having to make the 'special' tool to hold the forward clutch in place against the spring, its a job for this weekend....
keen to get it back together and put back in the car asap, other projects are backing up :-)

Glad to see you actually received something from Martin. I wonder if the 998 auto gear set is the same.

The SPi uses larger gears, I am also told these are laser welded which makes them somewhat more robust, they are not interchangeable though

one good thing to come out of lockdown is that i've managed to complete the gearbox rebuild and get the engine put back in the car, today i drove it forwards and backwards without issue and managed to go quick enough to shift up into second gear, so far so good.
Once i've finished putting all the other bits and pieces back on with nip up the road for a longer test....
