It's a nice alternative, but it can also be a wiring nightmare, especially the hazard switch!

didn't get to install my engine into the car today because it was raining hard again, but i did get to go and help my buddy with his seats, i made the front mounts for his honda recaro seats, he has to get some metal for the rear mounts still and then i'll problably go and do the welding again or whatever i just drilled a hole so that the 3/8's nut would fit but tight, and he wanted them so that the nut stuck up from the metal just a hair, witched worked out for me, gave me something to weld to i forgot my welding gloves at home, but my hands didn't get burnt any, i guess i got lucky, i welded it useing a clarke 110en with gas less flux core wire( im out of gas right now)

It's a nice alternative, but it can also be a wiring nightmare, especially the hazard switch! wiring comes pretty ez for me, and my buddy is gonna let me use his solder unit to do the job with im gonna use the metro clocks and build my wiring harness using the old wiring from the metro and mini my mini had a 2clock set up up, and a different style of starter that the metro engine came with but i wired up a few gm ls1 style v8's from skratch and a few injection engine swaps and i wired up my older brothers 55 chevy belair from skratch, so i don't think the mini will be a problem for me

my older brother broke a U-joint on his 55 chevy belair, he says the U-joint was too small, lol and he's gonna upgrade to a 1350 style heavy duty joint and a bigger driveshaft the rearend is a ford 9inch with a 454 and a 5speed box

But replicating the hazard switch will have you scratching your head, trust me. There's a thread on Minifinity somewhere, the guy who did it used two relays I think, though I felt it could have been made to work with one of the right type and some ingenuity. Keep us posted!

hummm, i guess i need to open up the haynes book and see how its wired up, i havn't really looked deep into it yet but it will be wired up somewhat close as to how the older carb chevy(gm) cars were like back in the day i think they only use one flasher for the hazards(4ways) and maybe one for the turn signal time to get out my old manuals and start reading i plan to hide my wiring because im gonna run a open dash, so its gonna be fun and take alot of time the radio will go under the dash rail on the passager side and im gonna have a metro clock and im looking at buying the dash cover kit from www.optimise-automotive.easyspaceshops.com/epages/100053821.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/100053821/Categories/Dash_Trim_Accessories

i looked at using this harness kit about 6months ago when i 1st got the idea to do my own wiring, and have a fresh start and go from their, make the kit work for what i want to do in the car www.speedwaymotors.com/Economy-12-Circuit-Wiring-Harness,2352.html my guess is that with shipping, the harness will run me about 90gbp

got my engine in but it gave me trouble, i had to notch the top part of the front subframe crossmember, i notched it about 1/4in about 4inch long
and then in the middle of trying to move the engine around to make it fit, i bent the part the hood latches onto, so i cut it out
i got another front clip but the wings are cut at the top, so im gonna price out a new front clip with the pickup/van grill and wings
maybe i can get the parts for cheap at the upcoming show if not then im gonna look into a 1pc grp front clip from tdk racing

I'll be there. You might find me on the Crewes-Missiles stand. Or ask there and they'll point me out to you. I'll look for your hand cart thing.

last night i pulled the pots off from the engine to put my pot joints together, one of the axles had a small 1/2in rip where the band clamps it, so i ended up taking the pot joint 100% apart and cleaned it off to make sure their was no dirt in their, it was good and now i know its sealed all the way now
i had two extra boot covers in the back, lucky me so now the axles are built up and i was able to install one of them into the car
i just now need to look up the torque spec for the axle nut to disc and then get the other axle installed
im gonna leave the calipers off the car right now because i just want to get it rolling on all 4 wheels so i can get the front clip installed
looks like im gonna order my wiring harness the 1st of march the one from speedway motors $130 usd plus shipping

I might not be as cheap as you think as you will have to pay tax and duty on it when it arrives. Have a look at this website as a couple in my local mini club have used them. www.autosparks.co.uk

since day one my car has been leaking alittle bit of water from the right side dash area, i did new seals and everything and still nothing and so a few weeks ago at the show i got a new scuttle panels and closer panel and today i started to cut away to replace those panels and i found alot more rust then i knew about
so i ended up cutting away most of the inner A post the closer panel was about 90% rusted away, but the scuttle was fine on the under side, but its now cut out also
im gonna post pictures later on tonight
