Well the Engine Bay Refurb is pretty much finished
Painted a few Ancillaries to brighten things up
Rad and Alternator Brackets
Rocker Cover
And cleaned up the Rocker Cover Bolts
Before on the Left/After on the Right
Replaced the Rubber Seals Too
Old on Left/New on Right
Old ones were in a Shocking State
Also Repainted the Coil but don't have a Photo of that
Painted the Shabby old Alternator
And Stripped the Black Paint from the Top of the Radiator to reveal the Shiny Brass
Everything was then refitted to the Engine Bay along with new Distributor Cap,Rotor Arm,Oil Filler Cap,Fan belt,Thermostat and we will be Changing the Plugs too
It Now looks like this
Just needs Air Filter Box fitting and a splash of Auto Glym Rubber and Plastic Polish to make all the Pipes and Plastic parts look nice and fresh
While prepping the car we discovered a little more Rust in the Front Wings
However it was Confined to the Headlamp area and the Wings were Rust free apart from these areas
Offside Wing
Nearside Wing
As both wings were very sound apart from these tiny holes the metal was ground back to clean metal and tiny plates welded in place and a skim of filler to level the surface
Nearside Wing Welded and Filled
And Offside
You may notice that the Grille Screw holes have been welded and filled too
We are fitting Grille Buttons instead
We were a bit surprised when they Arrived though as they are Branded "Speedwell"
I thought Speedwell Stopped Trading Wayy Back !!!!
Boris has now Been flatted back as Much as he can be,only things left to do is treat the minor rust bubbling thats been ground back with Jelonite and Rustproof behind the Wing Repairs then Boris can be Primed ready for his New Shiny Flame Red Topcoat of Paint
Hopefully this is the last Photo of Boris Like this?
Next One he will be covered in Grey Primer
