We've just started summer here and the weather is great! Sunny and 25-35 degrees C every day. It usually reaches into the 40's after Christmas.

Hot and dry here. It got to 30°c with 12% humidity. I just dug some holes to plant a couple of trees. It was dry dust in the holes down to about 12" and then dry clay as hard as house bricks after that. I had to fill the holes with water and leave them for an hour to soften the clay so I could dig the holes deep enough.

I am loving melbourne weather here at the moment. As Brett said, 25-35degrees every day. have gotten so much done on the minis this week! Not looking forward to January-Feb though. We have a huge back decking out the back, and on Black Saturday last year, it was 46degrees outside and 52 degrees on the back decking under the plastic roof!!

wish it was like that here mate You probably don't. We've been in drought for years and all our farmers are going broke. It's much worse where Morris1100 is than here in Melbourne (700-800km south). Even so, our drinking water supply is the lowest it's ever been.

know how everyone feels, my clubby estate has no rear sliding windows in at mo and my garage isnt big enough to swing a cat in so to work on it i need to push it out of the garage, its ok if i need to work on the engine cos i can get round the front of it but anything else forget it why don't they build reasonable sized garages as for you guys in oz, i was brought up there, in perth, my sister and brother are still there and they were saying about how hot and dry it's been, you can go from one extreme to the other i guess

My colleague at work who I talk to 4-5 times per day tells me to stop complaining about the weather.... Then again, he does live in northern Finland in total darkness 24 hrs per day. Check out this photo from his cars dash from a couple of hours ago - around mid day ;D

What car does he have? Just incase we ever get -33 conditions id like to know I might get one Be interesting what oil they use out there too

They do things a bit different out there but the cars are not far from ours regarding antifreeze and oil. The big difference is that in every car park there are electrical sockets at every space. Round socket type things. The car plugs in somewhere at the radiator area. It keeps the engine warm by heating up its water, and the car warm because the water then goes through the heater. They also have like a big fan heater on the passenger side foot-well that keeps things cosier I was told that if you don't plug in then you are seriously screwed when you come back to the car.... Also they use winter pattern tyres in cities, and metal studded tyres elsewhere. By law they have to change tyres in early November. They use no salt because it doesn't work at such low temperatures. Oh.... and they all have the driving skills of rally drivers Very impressive compared to our feable attempts ;D ;D
