Really only making an observation of the 4th down, no drive in all gear,s. Then cross reference with the numbers.

Okay. Stall Test - As per instructions. Just keeps increasing revs until I take my foot off. Probably something I am doing wrong. started to have a look at the auto transmission troubleshooting. Oil Level - Good Pressure Check - Does this mean oil pressure check, do I need specific tools for the job.

You,ll need an oil pressure gauge that goes up to 200 psi. Then connect it to the bolt outlet on the oil filter canister mount. Its the bolt facing upward,s.

Oil Pressure Readings. Started from nearly cold. Everything except reverse 95 PSI, put into reverse and goes up to around 175 PSI. Left it running for about 5 mins and readings stayed the same. Does that give any pointers.

The metro automatic gearbox supplement which should be the same as yours, it say,s all forwards gears should be reading over 95 psi and reverse should be over 150 psi. It does say low pressure in 1,2,3 and D indicates leakage from forward clutch or forward clutch supply line. However as youve got no reverse either the plot thicken,s.

Yep , thats right in the middle pic ,bottom left you can see the bolt/dowel virtually screwed out. What you cant see is the smooth part beyond the thread that locates into the hole of the cylindrical gear train. If you unbolt the bolt and its missing the portion beyond the thread you,ve found your problem. Happy Christmas all the bolt is called a DOG bolt, if you google such things you should see what to expect on the end. I've been reading through the post, but as i'm still in the workshop moving machinery about etc.... I am not 100% up to speed so please excuse me, no drive forwards is as far as I have so far, but did I also see no reverse ? is it a 1275 ? then in all probability its the main gear set, engine out etc...

Hi all. I really appreciate all of the help I have been getting here, if I haven't solved the issue at least I am learning on the way. From what you are reading, is there any point in trying to troubleshoot further. If not, does anyone know where I can go to get it fixed. I am in Essex. Thanks

Martin (posted above) would be your best bet. He's about 1 hour 40 minutes from you in Wellingborough.
While it's probably ok for a local general auto repairer to look at it. Martin is an AP Auto specialist with years of experience. I'd suggest you PM him before trying anyone else.
Really nice guy too.

I,d second that too. Chances are if you go to a regular gearbox specialist, they,ll probably send it to him anyway.
