hi recently i have noticed the black paint has bubbled really bad on my oil filter housing when ive chipped it off it is veryy rusty i am gutted as i dont think you can get them and ive tried unscrewing the filter many times and i just keep getting half way and screwed it back on quickly as it pours out oil and dont want oil all over my driveway also my oil level is pretty low but there is like a bad scrape looks like someones rubbed it down the oil leval is below that but i dont want to keep on running it as i dont know if anyything is rubbing agaist my dip stick any help would be great if you need more info i can give it if you tell me what to do

also what oil do i put in my mini and what oil in the su much

If you remove the oil filter housing oil does pour out! To change the oil and filter you need to drain the oil from the sump first. You'll still get a little out of the filter housing when you undo it.
I assume the 'bad scrape' is on the dipstick, can you post a picture of it? Can you see either the minimum or maximum mark?
There are 2 conflicting pieces of advice about what oil to use in a 1991 mini - some say 20w50, others 10w40. You do need a good quality mineral-based oil.
You can get oil specially formulated for the SU carbs but many of us (me included) just use a little 3-in-1.

ok but can you get replacements filters and housings also yes the bad scrape is on the dip stick i will post a pic tmorow night when i get home from school but i can see the min mark but gonna get out the jump leads tomorow and jump start it get it running
