Does anyone have any experiance of cutting down standard wheel arches? I am going to cut my arches down to the edge of the masking tape line. I will then paint in body colour.Attachments:

Hi, I've no experience of doing this myself. If you are going to paint them, have you considered maybe fitting a set of Wood and Pickett type arches as these can can be painted?

Hi Tony, Painting isn't a problem as I can use a plastic primer. The problem I can forsee is finding a way of getting a good even profile on the outside edge, after I have cut off the unwanted section.

These arches are hollow............ cutting the outside away is going to get you involved in a lot of fabrication Emma

Hi Emma, Planning to cheat a lot of work by using oasis foam and fiberglass. I will post pic's when under way.

Would it not be an idea to approach this from the other direction?
By this I mean cut the arch so you use the outer portion as the 'keep bit'.... then add a new mounting flange perhaps

That is a very positive idea, why did I not think of that. Back to the drawing board. Thanks, Emma.
