Hi all,new to the group and looking for a bit of advice if you would be so kind. I have just acquired an auto mini and it slips in top gear and reverse, drives fine otherwise but revs hard when it/slips in aforementioned gears. I presume this is a dead gearbox or do you think it could be fixable, thanks in advance

Hi. Welcome to the forum.
It sounds like it could be worn clutch plates on the top and reverse clutch. It could also be a few other things but I'd look at worn plates being the obvious cause. Nothings unfixable and parts are available.

Ok it could be the forward clutch pack, what happens in reverse ? does it slip or is that good ? Also what year is it and what oil have you "installed" ?
