Hi, my name is Diego, I'm from Guatemala and I just got my 1996 auto mini cooper. Is in pretty good shape and I am here to learn the most about the car and clear all the doubts that people create on you telling that the auto gearbox is a pain, which for me, is a an advantage.
Right now the first thing I wish to know is that if it is normal that when you connect 1,2,3 or Drive, the car bumps.
Best regards

Hello Diego, Welcome to AMR. Your question should really be in the transmissions section, however look at the engine revs as they maybe too high, needs to be about 700 to 800 rpm ideally, if that is ok then you may have worn clutch plates or incorrect grade of oil try 10W40. If it is the plates then unfortunately it is a full strip down.
