Hi everyone, im having a problem with selecting gears. A few weeks ago my gear stick got stuck inbetween reverse and neutral i had to yank it out to get it back down to drive. Then for a few weeks it stopped recently it got stuck between 1 and 2 really stiff then the gear stick felt wobbly as if it was disconnected from something but now it wont go into reverse as if its non existent just idles.. but when i do drive it changes gears lovely just feels as somethings wrong with the gearstick not sure tho?!?

Hi there. Welcome to the forum. It sounds like the gear selector cable and/or bell crank pivots might need lubricating. The gear selector is connected to the gearbox via a cable, which is connected to a pivoted lever on the side of the gearbox. When you make gear selections it moves the lever which is connected to a steel rod in the gearbox. The rod is connected to the valve block which controls oil flow to different parts of the geartrain and brake band servos depending on your selection. Try spraying some WD40 around the bell crank. You'll need to remove the cover first though. The cover looks quite rounded and is located on the side of the gearbox at the bottom. You should see the gear selector cable running into it.
