My wife and I own and operate Glenn's MG Repair in St. Petersburg Florida. I bought her MG1100 "Millie Grace" at least 35 years ago, and to this day it is still her favorite car.
Within the last few years, I have been asked by Mini owners with the AP transmission to help them out so I have begun to collect whatever specialty repair information I can find to make sure these unique mechanical mysteries are still serviceable. When I started in this career in 1974, and when you could buy an Austin America for 50 dollars because of a broken CV joint (what the heck is THAT?), we used to just throw up our hands if an Auto version showed up.
Now that I can easily take a ZF 5 or 6 speed transmission apart and repair one, I find these little AP units to be a breath of fresh air and simplicity. Am I an expert on them? No, I would not say that. But I AM a British Car Repair expert with 42 years experience and dedicated staff of 9 techs, parts staff and body shop staff, and with their help, we have a blast keeping these cars going.
I do not get to spend a lot of time on the internet helping people with their cars, but I am always willing to offer what assistance I can if someone is having a problem. An e-mail is always the best way to get in touch with me. Glenn@glennsmg.com

Hi Glen and welcome to the register, its good to see someone flying the flag for Ap automatic,s. Tbh auto owners are looked upon as lepers this side of the pond, owning one tends to be a lifestyle choice as a lot of people just dont get the attraction of a 50 year old designed transmission. If you take it to an auto specialist over here most are not interested and refer you to "specialist" Ap people, of which there,s probably only a couple. Regards Terry.

High RobertM. How does your Mini like the high altitude? I'm in Albuquerque right around 5,300 ft. Mine is very sluggish off the line. Is Albuquerque too far away to join your facebook group? I created one here but only have 4 members. I know there are several running around. Just don't know how to get the word out. I have the only auto as far as I know.
