Hello,
About a year ago I became the proud owner of Mina a 1999 Japanese spec Mayfair Automatic. She was a fresh import and spent the first part of her life in the Shiga prefecture of Japan. For as long as I can remember I have been a lover of minis there is something about them that puts a smile on everyone's face and everyone has a story about one.
So when I saw her on a forecourt on my way back from work it was love at first site. After a Year it's time to start tackling some of the jobs that need doing to bring her back to perfect again. This is my first mini and it's a learning experience but i'm loving it so far.
Any Tips and tricks for Mini ownership or any auto specific tips would be much appreciated.
Cheers
James

There's a lot of good information on here. I recommend 10w40 motorcycle oil. Made mine shift so much better. Ask plenty of questions and use the search tool. Don't expect quick answers on here as there is not a lot of traffic. Sometimes days without a single post.
Where are you located? I'm in the states and there is rarely another member on here the same time I'm on.

Welcome.
As mentioned, use 10W-40 motorcycle oil with a MA2 certification. And when changing oil, be careful with the filter bolt. 14 lbs and no more on the torque wrench or you will bend the canister.
Also post where you are, or put in your details so we might help better. I'm in Bolivia, so the other side of the world for most.
