Has anyone fitted an oil cooler to a 1275? I am fitting an auto in my Juffy and the front is enclosed but I am thinking of ducting some air to the engine and a cooler. Will a kit for a manual fit?

Hi, Yes well! In a manual the oil pipe between the block and the filter and I imagine that is where a cooler is piped in, In the manual this pipe carries all the oil from the (smaller) pump to the oil filter, in an Auto the pipe carries oil from the valve block to the engine for lubricate it. So should work but its only cooling the oil to the engine not the full pump output which would require some serious breaking into the pump outlet plus its significantly larger flow and pressure. Better than nothing, getting the water cooling working properly would still be the best solution. Jock

I purchased a 1989 Metro with automatic and oil cooler. I didn't get much of a chance to look at it before I sold it but I was told it was factory installed.

I can be contacted on martin@kmprecisionengineering.com
fits between the oil output from the transmission and the engine banjo, except on later "SPi" units which do't have a pipe so I machine an aluminium block to go between the oil filter housing and the front cover
