Hi, I have previously used the forum for technical problems relating to an automatic Classic Mini Clubman Estate Engine/Gearbox, luckily I managed to change this for a low mileage, reliable unit. My question is, I have purchased a 12G202 cylinder head, twin HS2 SU carbs, and LCB Manifold, with 1 3/4” exhaust through the car, I believe the head has slightly larger valves than the standard head fitted to the 998cc engines, which is what I have, Will this setup give me an increase in power? And will the auto box take what I’m trying to do, I was previously looking at a manual replacement, but now enjoy the auto, and it’s part of the originality of the car. Thanks, John.

Yes John all your mods will help with your power. Although remember the weakness of the auto box is it stall speed so it might be spritely when it gets up and running particularly with your big carbs at higher speeds. As with all mods carefully tune it and you should see some good response Simon

If the stall speed is too low fit a convertor off a 998
