Hello Everyone,
I've just taken on a stalled project. It's a Foers Nomad, a mini based kitcar from the '80s.
Not been on the road since 2003 and passed through several hands since then, now passed on to me as a chassis with some remaining bodywork and some of the old running gear, along with lots of boxes of bits. The previous owner was going to convert it to automatic so I've got the 998cc A+ engine and box, some of it still in pieces, that he was going to fit but apparently no other auto parts. It's all like trying to assemble a jig-saw puzzle with quite a few pieces missing, extra bits from a totally different jig-saw added in just to confuse things, and no picture of what it's all supposed to look like when it's finished.
I see this as quite a long term project!
Clifford.

Welcome Clifford, would be great to see some pics, the auto engine should fly in a light kit car, was the engine and box in pieces too?.

"Look forward to eyeing your project pictures" Will start a re-build thread in Other A Series Engined Projects shortly, when I've re-learnt how to post pics. " . . the auto engine should fly in a light kit car, was the engine and box in pieces too?" Not expecting spectacular performance, the Nomad is more utility based. Imagine a hardtop Mini Moke/Scamp if it were designed and built by Land Rover. Substantial steel chassis with aluminium bodywork, all on Mini running gear. Having said that, a lot of the bodywork has been removed and rust has made a huge improvement to the power/weight ratio! Previous owner had done some work on the engine and box but hadn't quite finished putting it all back together when the project stalled. Still puzzling over a few bits but I'm getting there.
