I am very tempted to buy a 1973 Innocenti Minimatic for €2500 in good condition with mot. I don't know the seller but he has told me that the gearbox has been reconditioned recently and there are no problems. He states that the only fault is the clutch that needs replacing very soon. I haven't driven the car yet but my only fear is that the faulty clutch could hide gearbox problems. What should I look out for? Many thanks
Rob

I can be contacted on martin@kmprecisionengineering.com
There are clutches internal to the unit not an easy change, I would stay well clear, as the current owner is not being entirely honest with you, look at it this way, a reconditioned unit would NOT or at least should not be having clutch issues.
