Are you looking at the Torque Converter or the crank pulley? Jock

It is different for almost every engine. Displacement, distributor #, high or low compression. My 1275 with pollution crap on it is 8 btdc static or 10 btdc strobe @ 600 rpm. 3 strobe @ 1000 rpm. Taken either from the dimples on timing wheels or marks on flywheel. But as I said this can vary from 5/8 to 8/10 for static/strobe respectively at 600 rpm. BTW No vac advance on all above readings. These are according to my BL 1100/1300 manuals for automatic boxes. My books also say for 1098 low compression auto it should be 3 static or 8 strobe @ 1000rpm. No vac advance depending on the distributor number 41181, 41261
