I have recently have been notified that three of the sites/ forums that I regularly visit will be closing down this year (ships, cars) and this has left me considering the future of the other dedicated sites I visit, (I refuse to use Facebook and the like) The traffic on this site is very light and I suspect that it will go the way of many others which would be a shame, all the useful information would be lost. I believe that the AP 2 gearbox is an important milestone in automotive development and with care and understanding is still capable of impressive performance. I don't mind answering what some might consider dumb questions, I don't know everything but others can fill in the gaps. Anyone out there want to start the pot boiling? Jock

I can be contacted on sales@ap2.world
Hi Jock the forum admin team have no such idea, this group has a lot of history and knowledge there are other people that use this information that are like yourself and won't use facebook.
Rest assured, there would be a vote sent to all members before we contemplated any such action.

Forums are great things and I hate to think what will happen when they disappear slowly (as well as random little websites run by one person). I have seen it happen with another forum.
I use Facebook a lot due to the information that is on there and the convenience however it is almost impossible to find old information. Search engines don't/can't index facebook groups/posts well so there is heaps of information which can't be found but would be if it was on a forum.
I am a member of heaps of forums. If I was to join all the forums I visit I would have so many accounts and forums to regularly check. That is unfortunately where facebook wins, I can go on and easily see content from the hundreds of groups I am in (I might have too many interests)

I have seen many new members in the past year but they do not participate much if at all. Maybe it would help to encourage members to use the 'like' function more after reading entries even if they have no comments to make.
I too have cocerns about losing so much good info. It has helped me majorly in understanding how to maintain my AP trans and other drive issues. Do you suppose we could spark interest if we try to get people to check in with one of our topics like 'Show us yours' or events recently attended?
