The quick answer is no, there are differences to the oil system flows, I have heard that some people have managed to convert engine blocks but you would have to have access to a decent workshop, nothing is impossible if you throw enough money and work at it. Jock

I have a 1275 short block with no gearbox at the moment if you are still in need of a new engine. The crank, cam, pistons, dizzy, oil pressure switch, fuel pump, alternator mounts and banjo bolts are all still there. Fairly low 32,000 mile car.
Let me know if you are interested. Sure I could put it on a pallet for you..
