automatic motor by joaquinn lopez, on Flickr today I rebuilt the left side of the subframe with some 1.25 dom tube I ran out of tube, so I have to wait till tomorrow afterwork or unless I go on my lunch hour to go and buy somemore tube the metal place I go to has pre-cut triangles out of different thickness of metal I plan to use 3in triangles by 3/16 plate to brace up everything on this subframe I think they run 70 cents USD each and then I get a 10% discount on top of that so i'll go pick up like 10-20 of them and have a few left over I'm thinking about connecting my roll cage from inside the shell to the front part of the subframe and making those firewall roll cage tubes my upper coil over mounts as well because the sheet metal in that section of the mini is thin and I don't really think it was design to support the weight of the mini, it was only design to be the upper shock mount area

My son had a first mfr's run 1993 Del Sol which he could outrace Mustang 5.0's with. He modified the suspension (properly), exhaust (K&N filter was sucking too much air) and added a manually adjustable fuel regulator with gauge. That's all he did. Don't quote me but I believe his engine was a D16B_ type single cam Vtec. A pro estimated the cornering G's was 0.1 less than that of a Porche 911.

I installed the axles into the car, and made the upper coil over mounts And got the rotors put back on Almost ready to go back on 4 wheels
Tomorrow I’m going to start to install the automatic shifter into the mini And I have to wait on ac install, I have to go a different aftermarket ac box for inside, the factory lhd Honda ac box is facing the wrong way and mod it to fit the rhd way isn’t that simple Funds are low for this project so next summer I will look back into adding ac
But shifter goes in tomorrow
And I still have to figure out how to convert the mpi tank outlets to AN fittings

Could you use factory Mini A/C stuff for inside the car. It's available time to time from Japan. I have a complete setup I'm going to put on when I get the 1275 in(someyear).

yeah factory ac parts could work its just funding for this project is low right now so it can wait for now I'll set something up next summer but for now, here is how I did the alternator mount and coil-over top mount, I'm thinking about running a tube across the top of the coil-over mount from side to side, I'll use some adjustable joints and bolt it on, I'll have to weld on a few tabs but not a big deal for me and I really want to pull that stock manifold off and replace it with a header but we'll see, because it still function for now alt mounted by joaquinn lopez, on Flickr

shifter by joaquinn lopez, on Flickr here is the beginning steps of making a shifter mount and I don't plan on cutting the stock shifter cable to shorten it the shifter will be mounted close to a foot off the tunnel floor and its moved back over 6 inches this pic is real raw and I still need a ton of work to go I plan on building a metal console around it and I would like to stick a 8inch woofer in the area where the stock mini heater would be, of course the box for the woofer will be made out of mdf and whatnot

pd-18b by joaquinn lopez, on Flickr I found the pair of these Cerwin Vegas in Long Beach for $100USD I had a doctors appointment in San Diego and so it took me 5 hours to drive from SD to LB, 250mile round trip for them and $30 USD in gas but it was worth it the tweeters were blown and one of the 12in mid woofers has a shifted magnet, so I have to find another speaker the tweeters were simple and easy to fix, but I haven't looked to hard yet for the woofer

shifter in car by joaquinn lopez, on Flickr here I have the automatic shifter mounted to the tunnel stock length shifter cable, I have to make a few patch panels for the holes I put into the floor but that's not a big deal my shell has been cut up so much, not much stock mini shell left now a days I've replaced so many panels and mod so many panels on the shell, its not even funny shifter from top by joaquinn lopez, on Flickr here's the top view of the shifter, its kind off set to the left side but that's how I wanted it to be and I plan to build a center console to cover up the area so it wont be so open

booster by joaquinn lopez, on Flickr last night I pulled the booster and pedal box out of the del slow and started to mock it up into my mini I ended up having to cut part of my firewall box to make room to fit the stock Honda pedal box/booster/master cylinder I plan to make the firewall bolt to the booster on the front side between the booster and master cylinder and then the rear side I plan to make some bars that support the rear of the booster where the pedal box bolts to it, and those support bars will bolt in to the roll cage

pedal box by joaquinn lopez, on Flickr here's what the pedal box looks like from inside of the shell the firewall sheet metal is temp, I used it to get the pedal box in place where I wanted it I kind of welded scrape metal to it to weld to the opening on the car so that I could get a good feel making sure the pedals were in a good spot, no to high or to low and the pedals have good travel and not hit the floor of the car today I plan on working on the firewall and the rear support the plan is to have only the master cylinder coming out of the firewall and if the booster ever goes out, I will have to in bolt the pedal box from the shell to get the booster out from inside

brake set up by joaquinn lopez, on Flickr Honda brake set up in the car now I still need to do some work to the inside, I want to remove the plate of the old Honda firewall but I need to build some bolt in braces to bolt up to the rear of the brake booster and make those bolt in braces connect to the roll cage and dash area to support the pedal box the pedal box at the rear has one tab to the roll cage dash bar, I need to brace it up because its a flat plate and I want to start to install the Honda steering column into my mini I may have to shorten the Honda column a few inches

mini now has a 4 inch sectioned Honda steering column in it, the double u joint set up on the Honda column fits the mini's steering rack with no mods column bolts right in at the bottom

You're getting me motivated to go work on my car. It's in a million pieces right now. I'm trying to get as much as I can done my hips are feeling ok, my back doesn't hurt to much right now I have a 3 day weekend and I'm planning to have another 3 day weekend next weekend my car is in a million pieces right now as well, but I'm having one small victory at a time and slowly those millions of parts will get smaller and smaller the biggest thing I have to do is figure out where I'm going to get the money to buy new rims with more offset but as that problems comes, I'm sure I will have a plan for it I plan to get the steel wheels from summit racing, because they are pretty cheap

Love the build fella, what Honda model did you use?, also did you have to extend the clubman front?. Will keep watching!. my donor car is a 1995 lhd Honda del sol si the clubman front is from absmotorsports, its the stock length front clip, its just a fiberglass one and not metal, I wish I could get my hands on the money to buy a new metal front clip but clubman parts are pricey, I do have a metal clubman bonnet that I got for 30 gbp back in Nov of 2014 before I moved back to the states I'm just trying to get this build done as fast as I can this weekend I have to work on my daily driver, 2011 Honda pilot 4wd, the left front suspension is making a ugly sound, I think its the lower ball joint, but with that model, I had to buy a new lower control arm assy, what sucks is the fact that I replaced those lower arms 1 year ago I also picked up a new strut and mount for it and I'm thinking about replacing the tie rods and sway bar links as well a few weeks ago I replaced the axle and put new automatic oil into it, and replaced the transfer case oil, at the end of the month, I have a 900 mile round trip to drive

I haven't been working on my Mini due to maintenance on my other cars.
Had transmission problems with our Jeep Liberty CRD. Now I'm doing the front brakes and sway bar bushings and endlinks Sunday if I get the time.
The bell housing is cracked on my Bronco due to a starter bolt coming loose.
Not to mention all the stuff around the house. And looks like winter is finally coming in.

got the parts changed out on the pilot, that ball joint was super loose, that's where the popping was coming from
and I did a little more wiring on the mini the alternator is wired up, the starter is wired up
and today I picked up the wiring ends for the battery cable to run all the way to the back of the car
and I started to convert the wiper wiring, converting the Honda switch to mini motor
and I have a cannon plug for the front headlight wiring/fog lights/running lights/turn signals, and I may end up putting the horn into that plug as well
it has 20 pins on the wiring, so it should be fine for everything for the front clip
and the cruise control module box thingy is mounted up and wired up, and the throttle cable for that has been installed
I also ordered a throttle cable from a 95 Honda odyssey van, the stock del slow cable is 38 inches and the van cable is 50 inches, it was $20 from rockauto I hope it works or I'm gonna have to get custom on it, and that's gonna suck
