a friend of mine has just been given a fixed penalty notice for failure to display his tax disc because his car was parked outside his house on the street with a proper car cover over it. it is taxed but i s'pose technically the plod were right as the tax disc couldn't be seen. i'd never even given it a thought that you could get done if your car is covered up

personally if it was me id question it because you are allowed to put a protective cover on your car on your own property And if the plod in question had the registration to issue the fixed penalty the lazy so n so should of done a pnc check which would of told them the car was in fact taxed its obviously a jobsworth plod Its soo ridiculas i mean are we all going to be done when our windscreens frost up and our tax discs cant be seen Good luck let us all know how it goes

exactly he must have lifted the cover up to see the number plate, we have got a few jobsworth plods around here good point about the frost tho' but i guess it's not so hard to rub a bit of frost off the windscreen than to lift a whole cover off a car to see if it's taxed. load of pap if you asked me. he is going to appeal against it cos the car is taxed so to mr plod.
