hi all,
the oil filter bowl on my mini auto is damaged (squashed at the bolt end) and is causing a small oil leak.
Is there any chance anyone has a spare that they could sell me? Or any ideas where I can find one?
thanks, Mark

I've had the same problem before. If you can afford it, here are the only two sources I've found so far: www.turtle-trading.co.jp/s_cart/top.php?path=01_item.html&word=%A5%B1%A1%BC%A5%B9&kind=&page_no=&car_code=&genre_code=&goods_code=P0005299&quick=&view_type=www.mynet.ne.jp/thames/catalog/spare.cgi?disp=5&page=5I've never contacted them so I don't know anything about shipping. It seems that Turtle Trading has a distributor in the UK, in Bath I think. My solution is to have one made by a welder friend, from a 3" OD, 1/16 wall thickness stainless steel tube, cut along the length, enlarged to 3" ID and welded back, with a 1/4 thick stainless steel plate welded on top. I have not seen the finished product yet, I might see it this weekend, and I report back when it is installed. It is the same length, but it will not have the conical portion on top, it will just be cylindrical all along, and I hope I will not have clearance issues when fitting or removing.

hey,
thanks for the replies.
I've tried eBay with no luck. I've also contact a few people I know who regularly break minis, but nobody seems to be breaking an auto right now.
The turtle trading ones look great, but are a bit outside my budget right now.
I may look into getting something welded up.
In the meantime I'll keep looking and would appreciate it if people let me know if they come across one!
thanks, Mark

I just wanted to let people know that after trying a bunch of breakers, websites, eBay, forums etc I came across Mini Technique (http://www.minitech.co.uk/), who keep quite a large stock of parts for auto minis in stock.
I called them and less than 48 hours later I have a used, but excellent, filter bowl.
So, if anyone else finds themselves needing something like this in the future I very much recommend they contact Mini Technique.

Got excited when I looked at the left menu and saw ADO16. Problem is, all these links fail to take you anywhere. Please expand on how to use Google trans??

Go there: www.google.com/language_tools?hl=enthen in the "translate a web page" section, just paste the full address of the webpage you wish to translate, and select from japanese to english in the menus, then click Translate. Unfortunately, you cannot browse the translated site, you have to translate each page manually.

I don't profess any great knowledge of automatics but can't the manual, screw on cartridge type head be fitted to the block?

Unfortunately No The Oil Pressure inside the Automatic Gearbox is soo much more than that of the Manual that the Spin On type would just spin itself Off under pressure I think every Auto Owner wishes they could it would be soo much easier Huggz Jodie

Turtle Trading is a sister company to M-Machine of Darlington. Have you tried asking M-Machine?
