Hiya guys. I did an oil change yesterday and put 20/50w oil in her. I went out in her yesterday afterwards and the gear change was abit slow when the oil was cold but as soon as she was up to temperature the gear change was fair. I went out in her today and the her gear change was abit slow when she was cold but then was fine again when up to temp. After about 40 miles, I stopped at a supermarket and I noticed Molly had a oil patch under her so I got down on my knees and had a look underneath and there was oil dripping off her sump. So I decided to drive home and when I pulled up on the drive and put her in neutral, the gearbox made the loudest clunk I have heard before. It didn't sound good at all Any ideas what it could be as this didn't happen after my last oil change. Lea

Did you manage to sort it all out? yes I managed to sort that leak out but I have noticed another one which seems to be coming from the back of the engine. I know it' not the rocker cover leaking however I'v been told that behind there somewhere there's a little inspection plate?? If this is the case does anyone have a picture which will help me locate it?

If it's a 998 it may be the tappet covers which are under the exhaust manifold. If 1275 it doesn't have them. The most likely source of a leak at the back is the driveshaft oil seals - cheap and easy to replace except that you have to drain the oil and pull the pot joints out.

Molly is a 998cc and I'm fairly sure that it's not coming from the shafts but I will have another look and get back!!
