Clubman Estate Register Thong Run, June 5-6

The Clubman Estate Register's Thong Run charity weekend takes place at Meldreth, Herts, over the weekend of 5-6 June (yours truly is the Saturday evening entertainment!)

Yes, we got some funny looks from passers-by, 30 thonged-up Minis convoying through the countryside! And on the A1 on the way home with my son following!

Best bit of course was that we also raised £1400 for charity over the weekend (Skye got filled with balloons for that!)

Congratulations for raising that much for charity!! I'm sure it was abit of a funny sight, one where you have to look twice. Good luck if you plan to do any more

The Thong Run is an annual event, this one was the 5th. We're already beginning to plan next year's!

How many have you personally done? and is it always the same charity? If any of our members wanted to join you next year how would they go about it?

It's the first one I've been to, though it's been on my to-do list for the last three years. I spend a lot of time on the CER forums though and I've been on a few of their events (eg Clubman 40 at IMM2009), so I have admin access to parts of the forum there.

Anyone can attend the Thong Run, no pre-booking required, just turn up. Next year will probably be the first weekend in June again, and almost certainly the same excellent venue. The charities are chosen through being close to our members' hearts; everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer, and a couple of members have or work with autistic children, hence the choices.
