So Sad to see the demise of another mini. It looked repairable from the photos

It did look repairable, and sat on my garden for six months while I chewed it over. The deciding factor was the vinyl roof; it had been stuck over bare metal, so where it had begun to lift at the edges it was rotting all round. Sticking my key through it made up my mind! I've done a roof swap on an Elf, it's hard work, and it's not economically viable on a Mini which is not exactly rare yet. I agree we should save them where possible, but this car wasn't good enough. Sadly.
When I did cut it up, the boot floor ripped around one subby mounting, and I found the accident had ripped a front subby mounting out of the floor. All repairable individually, but too much in total.
