Hi all,
Not sure if I'm in the correct section here? My Mini Mayfair is now complete - I will try to get some pictures uploaded soon. I wonder if anyone could advise me on the best places to get an insurance quote? Also, I had been under the impression that once the car reached 15 years of age it would qualify for classic car insurance - some companies only recognise it as a classic if it's produced from 1991 or later? Thanks, Roger.

As regards insurance I would suggest that you ring the insurance companies that advertise in one of the mini mags. I got the Greenie insured, fully comp, for me and my daughter for £174. Some quoted as high as £440.

The definition of "classic" varies widely, but I have three Minis insured on one policy with Footman James, one quite significantly modified, all for £140 comp unlimited mileage.
For a single standard car, my wife has just had a renewal price of £122 from FJ. They do have a significant discount for joining the British Mini Club - easily worth the joining fee.
HIC/Adrian Flux (same company) and Lancaster are usually worth a try too. There are a few others around.
