Hi All,
New to this forum and hoping someone can help me.
My 82' Metro Auto has started to struggle to go into 'D' properly and instead seems to stay in 3rd. I noticed issues over last few months when manually selecting 2nd and 3rd because to select 2nd I have to pull the lever closer to 3rd.
Sounds like a selector cable issue because when it 'does' go into 'D' or manually selected it does do what it should when it should. I have a Haynes manual but I have to be honest and say I'm struggling to understand the few sentences that explain how to adjust the cable?
Does anyone have a better step-by-step explanation of what I need to do to adjust it to select properly? Is this something I can do myself?
Many thanks
James

Hi James
Welcome to AMR.
It is something you can do yourself. I have sent you a PM with links to much better manuals than Haynes. Take a look at these and come back if you have any more questions.

Hi Paul
Is there any chance you could drop the manuals by me as well. I'm struggling to do the exact same job.
