Just a general question really. My 1996 Mini Mayfair does not have a dipping rear view mirror - just a standard fixed type. I seem to recall that 1970's Minis did have a dipping type fitted. Does anyone know when this option was deleted? It's annoying when car headlights dazzle and I'd like to fit a dipping type (if I can locate one!) Many thanks. Tony Roger.

Hi Tony, I posted a similar question and found a solution you might want to try. As a dipping mirror for the mini is no longer available I bought an aftermarket `stick on` universal mirror from Summit (part No RV-75) and fitted it in the following way: First simply remove the sticky fixing mount from the new mirror (the ball & socket joint pulls out, and is luckily the same as the original fixing!) Then remove the original from the car, remove the old mirror from its mounting stalk in the same way (by pulling it off) and fit the new dipping mirror on to the original mounting and re-attach to the car. You then have a new mirror that you can dip, looks original and doesn`t vibrate any more than the original one did! I have found this to be as good as anything else I have seen on a Mini. Hope this helps.
