I've had this Mini for just under a year. I paid £3,800 for it from a dealer and I've spent about £500 having it serviced. It runs beautifully. I've driven 70mph on the motorway with it; I've even overtaken other cars! It passed its MOT in August 2013 with no problems, no advisories. It had a brand new battery installed a few months ago. I have a pile of receipts for recent work done on the car and four years worth of MOT certificates (see photo). It has around 47,000 miles on the clock, and the MOT certificates are consistent with this figure. I just had it road taxed, so you're good to go until the end of February next year. I did a Platinum Car Status Check before I bought the car, which is dated 18th March 2013 and showed the the car is clear.
Everyone who's looked at it, including people in the trade, all describe it as "very tidy". Obviously there's some rust, but nothing much to worry about. The last photo shows the worst bit of rust on the shell. That's really all there is on the paintwork. The sills are good. I had it up off the ground and had a mechanic take a good look at it and he was surprised and impressed by the condition. As you can see from the photo, the engine is clean. The interior is in pretty good shape. It had a new carpet a couple of years ago. The seats are good -- clean, no tears.
This is great car, that's fun to drive. You won't need to do much to it. It's been well serviced in the year I've owned it so that it runs really well. It even starts pretty well in the cold. It's cheap to insure -- it's great for young people -- and it's £140 to tax for a year (though, as I said, it has a year's tax on it already).
I'm selling it because it's not a very practical car for me. I do long drives on motorways and it can handle that, but there's no radio, no air-conditioning, no creature comforts that you like on long, boring drives. There are no serious problems with this car. It's not a project.
I'll throw in the Haynes manual, a socket set and a jack. I might even give you the Paul Smith Mini key ring I got for it! Oh, and it has two sets of keys.
I'd like to sell it within the next month. I'm asking £2,800, which is £1,000 less than I paid. I'm happy for serious inquirers to have a look at the car and come for a drive. You won't be disappointed. You might be able to talk me down a bit on the price. Maybe. A bit!
