Hi Folks well heres whats been causing the leaky Oil filter on Boris and heres the damage from the inside You may say looking at the piccys whats wrong with it? Well the bolt was tightened too much,we didnt realise at the time but we do now Heres a picture from the last oil change sorry about the different angle but see on this photo where the cup washer that sits under the bolt head has worn away the black paint? Now go back and check this area out on the first piccy (remember this is the very same filter bowl) The metal washer under the bolt head you see on the last picture has pulled in and squashed the filter bowl and made a recess for itself As shown in this next piccy from the previous oil change when all tightened up that cup washer under the bolt sit on top of the filter bowl and you can see all of it Now when you tighten it up it sits down below the top in its very own recess And thats why it wont seal we are hoping to get a Replacement Bowl over the weekend if not Emma has also offered to help us out with one,so one way or another Boris will hit the road again Next week hopefully Huggz Jodie

Could that not be repaired?
If It were me I'd use a couple of sockets and a long bolt to repair the recess.
If the problem is that the recess has been pulled into the housing, then do the reverse.
Use a socket that sits on the outer edge of the end of the filter(outside)
and then find a socket that sits in the recess(inside the filter)
Find a long bolt that will go between both sockets.
Fit the bolt and gently tighten it till the recess is straightened out.
I think i've explained it correctly!!

Thanks your royal Shiftyness Hopefully were getting a replacement tommorow So we might try that on the broken one then weve got a spare So lets see if ive got the idea right? Get a bolt that fits that hole and put the bolt through the hole from inside the bowl Then through a block of wood with a hole in it then put a nut on the bolt and wind against the block? In theory it should pull it back out the way it came? Am i right?

Yup, that pretty much it.
I'd use a socket on the inside though, should help form a nice seat.
Give it a go, I'm sure it will work.
