Sorry, for the length but I want to provide as much info as possible. I have an '87/auto/RHD/24,4000 miles/one owner. When I had this car in the UK I only drove it about 9 miles each way to work with no problems. Now I have it here in the states. I usual just drive it around town, in traffic/lights no problem. However, I've been getting brave and getting out on the open road. The only three times that I've done this and have driven for more than 20 mintutes I get a fork in a blender noise when I get back home to park it or put in reverse. The previous time, I was told it was probably the oil (10-30) I was using was to hot. So I went back and changed it to Miller's classic mini oil 20w-50. I drove it today the same drive as before and the sound was worse. I'm thinking maybe the oil hasn't gone through the whole engine but that's just the noob in me troublshooting. Attached is the video after today's drive. (leave the lights on when you watch the video ) Thanks for any inputs or suggestions.

The only suggestion I have is to get the engine and 'box out and have a look. Whatever is going on there is very, very bad

I do not recognise the noise. Never heard before. But thinking about what it could be, I came to the thought that maybe the ventilator is scratching. Look at the engine steady. When the rubbers are old the engine is moving more for- and backward when you apply the driving position or one of the other gears from neutral. Take a piece of wood a little longer than the steady and hammer it between the engine and the bulk of the couch so that the engine is leaning forward as much as possible by the restrain of the steady. Apply again several gears with the engine running. Is the noise still there?
