Does it have any drive in any of the positions .... ie 123... D or R ?
If yes then you have low pressure probably caused by a seal or gasket failure.
For a company to change the shells without any other work is a fundamental error any decent garage would NEVER do it ! because in reality the whole engine should be stripped cleaned checked, but then the chances are you would need a fresh ground crankshaft and at the very least new rings and a hone because if anything goes wrong and in all probability it will, who will you blame ?
Also to note I very much doubt that they changed the shells... I will explain:-
For the engine to suffer low pressure in an auto mini would require so much clearance at the shells that it would sound like a bag of nails on a tin roof, a big bag, say 100 kg ... because the engine pump works at almost 200psi your engine only requires about 50psi the transmission requires from about 75psi to 125 (168psi on some models) to work ok. As the internal wear increases, flow also increases so maintaining your engines oil pressure at a reasonable level.
you would have lost drive long before your engine bearings caused any fuss... in stripping literally thousands of auto Mini engines I can honestly say I can count on one hand how many I have found anywhere bad enough not to run !
Now if you are telling me the engine oil pressure was lost ie you have a gauge that was reading low then that is entirely a different issue, probably caused by a leaky seal within the oil pipeline to the engine or a stuck PRV in the block.
I suspect what happened was the loss of oil caused by the leaks in the unit caused the loss of drive.
Now if you have no drive in all gears ring me on 07704121976 and I will talk you through a few checks that you can perform yourself.
