Just put a 123 dizzy in. Old points one was shot. Much better top end but only drove it once. Lots of snow outside today. Still need to get it dialed in. Need to see if high altitude will affect it as well(5000+ ft).
My old points dizzy had very weak springs. It was advancing at idle and could only get 15 more degrees above idle all in by 2000rpm. This might have been causing my overheating due to retarded timing. You could turn the rotor against the springs and it would barely go back. If it went back all the way?
Long story short, everyone should check their mechanical and vacuum advance on there Dizzy's.
