Picked up a 92 or 93 SPI auto today. Everything below the head. Punched the engine code in a couple of online sites. Came up as 3.27 final drive. I was hoping for 2.76 but this thing should be plenty quick.
Does this seem right on the final drive? I thought 1275's only came with 2.76's.
When I get the funds I'm going to also get the A/C system as well. He's converting to LHD and no room for it.

It's a Japanese car. Also had the A/C so maybe they used lower gears to make up for running the compressor. I was going to try and get it the rest of the way apart this weekend, but now looks like I have other people's car to fix and more snow coming in.

Hi, eventually stripped out the dif in my 1275 sprite box (1993). The diff had 69 /25 stamped on it, when I checked it up on the rover database it said 2.76. Hope this helps.

I haven't had a chance to tear it down any further. Been busy fixing other peoples cars lately.

I haven't had a chance to tear it down any further. Been busy fixing other peoples cars lately. If yours is a 998 or a Japanese spec the chances are it will have a 3.27:1 FD ratio.

I haven't had the chance to work on it anymore lately. It is a Japanese spec engine. I was hoping for the 2.76 gears to keep the rpm's down.
