Can anyone recommend a really good auto trans service book? I have the Leyland Service Manual, orange cover says mini on the cover, but I'm not really impressed with it. I'm in the processing of removing the trans from the engine and they just seem to skip a lot of steps, not to mention they only use the factory service tools which I'm guess most of us do not have or have access too.
Appreciate anyones help.
Thanks
Terry

Terry, I'm afraid that I must tell you that this is the way we all have to do these things. With the same book. Missing the same special tools. And asking ourselves what the next step would be. But you can learn a lot from reading this forum. Most answers are here written down by the guys that proceded you in exploring theire Mini Matic box.

If you can get your hands on "foulis overhaul manual Ap automatic transmission" that might help you. It is like hens teeth. Its by John Organ.

Yeah, sorry for dropping that one on you, been trying to get it myself for a while. I've got the orange one, I've got the austin metro auto supplement and the austin 1100 auto supplement, tbh they all lack detail especially when it comes to stripping the clutch plates.good luck with your rebuild. Let me know if you source that book. Terry.
