Aren't they the early ado16,s Stu? . I,m sure that's the type in the silent pathe movie showing the AP gearboxes being made. Where did you come up with that?.

That's my box! Yes, this is the right housing and it is not modified. I'm not positive if you could swap the entire assembly over but be ware. This is difficult to remove in situ due to its size. I just did it last night.

By the look of it, it should. Mine does. They switched in 1973 on the 1100 to CV's.

It has pot joints. I've taken it to bits now. The valve blocks different to my two 998 boxes as is the train, casing, gov housing and some other bits. I'll be disassembling the parts into small components so I have a good range of spare bits and pieces for my 998 re-build, which was the intention. I'd like to find out what it came out of and what year but it's difficult with these boxes, especially when they're not attached to an engine block with a number on

Hi Stu, perhaps the diff ratio will tell you what car its from. I,m very surprised its got pots, never seen a pot joint with the stubby but fatter oil filter housing.

MKIII 1100/1300 had them in the '70s up until they stopped production in '74. I've often thought of swapping my Hardy Spicers to pots but I've been told they're not much different. Besides, the shafts for the swap are virtually nonexistent.
Since the box has my type of filter, I would hazard a guess that you have a '72-'74 1300 auto box.

I can be contacted on martin@kmprecisionengineering.com
Some parts are interchangeable but becarefull as you will need to change some as "a set" also not being an expert on the ADO16 (which is the 1100/1300 car number by the way) but I'm pretty sure pots didn't come out till 74
