I'm sure by now all of you know that Morty is/was completely virgin. He has had no nut turned other than routine maintenance. the unthinkable just happened last week. I slid in the rain into the rear of a pickup truck. I lost mostly my lunch but, other than that, my bonnet, grill, and left lamp assembly, including the sealed beam 47 yr old Lucas lamp. I have acquired all the lamp bits except the lamp itself. Grill is workable and so is the bonnet (I think). The badge bar is a rare model and may not be available anywhere. I will have to try straitening it but the chrome will be damaged. The cause of my slide was probably a failed inertia valve. Check your valves people. Don't let this happen to you. It will not show up at all until you need to stop quickly enough to cause the inertia of your car to take the weight off the rear wheels. They will lock up and your fronts will get less braking pressure than they should to stop you. I know!!
Please, anyone anywhere. Do you have a left hand drive Lucas sealed beam lamp?
