Hi, I am selling my beloved, restored Clubman Estate 998cc Automatic. The car has just had a engine/gearbox replacement from a 23,000 mile 1981 Clubman, so drives like new. It has recently undergone a restoration the beginning of last year, benefitting from:
-complete brake system throughout, shoes, cylinders brake lines, hoses, master cylinder seals, handbrake cables, etc.
-4 brand new shock absorbers.
-4 brand new suspension cones complete with new knuckle joints/boots to suit.
-alternator refurbish, with new fan and pulley/belt.
-all new rubber boots on steering rack, inner/outer driveshafts, handbrake arms, etc, nothing was left out.
-new track rod ends
-new top and bottom bump stops.
-all suspension rubbers replaced and upgraded to poly bushes.
-rear radius arm handbrake quadrants.
-new subframe mounts front and rear, with new grease nipples to suit.
-both subframes shotblasted, primed and painted, stone chipped to protect them.
-shot blast and zinc plated 10" steel rims, never rust again.
-engine overhaul including plugs, leads, air/oil filter, distributor cap, rotor arm, rocker gasket, water pump, all heater and rad hoses, oil, points, condenser, re-timed, valve clearances checked, inlet/exhaust gasket, carb refurbish with gaskets, etc.
-the engine starts first time and is like a sewing machine, pulls nicely in all gears no problem.
-funn
The car was pretty rotten when I got it so it's had numerous panels fitted, mainly heritage panels, but the rest from either Mini spares or mini sport, they include
-drivers side inner wing
-drivers wing
-drivers A panel
-scuttle repair
-floor pans
-inner sill
-outer sill
-rear subframe mount panel
-rear valance inner/outer repairs
-passenger A panel
-passenger sills
-passenger rear valance inner/outer repairs.
-new light brackets, with steel Lucas headlamp bowls , and sealed beam headlamp units.
-new flocked sliding window rubbers, won't rot like the original steel ones.
-new windscreen rubber and chrome infill piece.
-chrome trim on the outside lip running round the car.
The interior is brown velour/suede and is in good condition. There is 1patch on the rear seat that is faded/slightly torn, around 6" square where somebody has left the car with the rear seat down on the battery and the acid has eaten away at it. I have a brown picnic blanket on the rear seat, so never really bothered me. Generally the car is really good, there is a couple of bits that need doing, the wheels are just zinc at the minute, I was fitting minilites but never got round to it, so could do with a paint. Also the tyres are starting to slightly crack with being stood, but as I say was going to fit minilites. The door straps need to go back on, not much of a job. The car would benefit from a good polish on the paint, its perfectly presentable, just a good polish would really set it off. The nut brown stickers are also brand new on the paint. Selling due to it being for the wife but she doesn't like it! I would use it but there's nowhere to park it at work, I'm having my garage renovated so it's on the drive under a cover, it only gets used very frequently, around 6-7 months MOT left, went through with no advisories, less than 100 miles since MOT, so little use. Any test welcome, it's located in Whitby, North Yorkshire, looking for around £4500 or nearest offer, all receipts to prove the parts, pictures to prove the work, any more information don't hesitate to get in touch, I'll post the pictures soon, thanks John.
