Greetings from the U.S.! I stumbled across this forum a little while back. I am restoring a '69 Austin. I'm fairly certain it is a numbers marching auto.
I have the entire vehicle disassembled right now, and was going to go to manual (the "Dark Side" as I have seen on here). I don't think too many U.S. mini enthusiasts are into automatics. But costs are becoming an issue... should I just leave it an auto, but spruce it up? I think the word "cost" has just answered the question for me.
I think my real question is how valuable is a matching numbers automatic Austin? Thanks for humoring me!! :0) ~ Janelle

I can't tell you anything on value but I would keep it auto. Where in the states are you?

Turnkey Minis go for as much as 3 times more than my 1100 and, if turnkey, it is now selling for $7K-$8K on average. Some go as high as $12K. I think that it is worth the cost. Once bitten by the auto, your hooked.

I think I made my post confusing. The 1100 goes for $7-$12 and the Mini, in North America, goes for 3 times more.
