Its been a while since anybody posted so I thought I would, Its really hot in South Australia at the moment, today it was 44 deg C when I took Otto(1968 Minimatic) out I have always been a bit nervous about the engine overheating, Autos seem worse than manuals probably due to the autobox drag, today was OK I have a 82 deg thermostat fitted and the water temperature ran between 85 and 95 deg despite it being quite hilly around here. The car used to go over 100 deg at anything hotter than 35 deg, the difference is due to the electronic ignition I put in two years ago, the Australian build Lucas distributors are/were awful. Another plus today was the autobox was faultless, no flaring or hard engagement, the high temp helps the engine oil flow through the hydraulic system better. Jock
