Can't believe it's been two years since my last update. Lots done but lots of distractions too. Oh well, here goes- Dash fitted and wiring loom made up from scratch. All electrics now completed, tested and working fine.
Made a roof and back for the cab from old signboard and some D-line trunking - Offside panelling finished - Re-built master cylinder and callipers, now waiting for warmer weather to get them fitted and brakes plumbed in. Then it's fuel line, seatbelts and mirrors. Then . . . . . . maybe road test time!

Been chipping away at odd jobs on this throughout the summer. Now got doors aligned, carpets, mirrors and sun visors fitted. Next up is plumbing fuel and brakes, then . . . . . .

Engine bay looking quite full now. So pleased I haven't got to fit in a servo or clutch.

Brakes and fuel pump all plumbed in and appear to be working well. Turned my attention to the engine. Had it running for a few minutes then discovered the leak from the selector shaft had got a lot worse so decided to replace the seal before I went any further. It was an absolute pig of a job. First, the nut on the end of the selector shaft couldn't be undone as the shaft was revolving within the cast link piece. Had to grind it with a Dremel -
Then the link wouldn't come of so had to wedge behind it and drift the shaft through -
The shoulder had mushroomed because of the nut being overtightened so had to gently grind the burr off. Now to remove the old seal. The bu**er was rock hard but got all the bits out eventually - All back together now and seems to be oil tight but the hardness of the seal really doesn't bode well for the condition of all the internal seals, which are probably just as bad, even though I got good pressures when I ran it up a while back. This has brought me the closest I've been to considering ditching the auto and looking for a manual. I've been working away at this project for several years now and have enjoyed almost all of it. The only jobs that have given me grief of any kind have all been connected to the fact that it's an auto. and I haven't tried driving it yet!

Hang in there guy. You're well on the way. Even if you switch now, the work, time and money will be worse than staying auto. For starters you need a clutch assembly and master/slave setup.
