Good Afternoon,
How are we all doing today?
I been off sick so thought I'd go out to garage try and get my Bottom in gear and get back on track with the mini.
I took it off the road for the winter in 2021, while it was off the road. I started the caliper conversion, fitting hi-los, GAZ dampers, bump stops, roll center extended lower ball joints and braided hoses. (and fix the damaged boots on inner/outer CV gaiters.
I a just trying to learn on the go. I have issues with hip and knee so proect has been start stop.
The drivers side went well(excluding time) the passengers side has gave me more of an issue. So have a couple of questions I want to check,if anyone could keep me right is much appreciated?
The engine is still in situ. I found it really difficult to get the hose the passes thru the subframe really difficult to get off, do others find this difficult? or is there a trick or technique?
I ended up cutting the brake pipe and whacking a socket on the top. I was replacing the front brake lines and hoses, so didn't matter but would be an issue if I wasn't replacing. I got the flexible front subframe kit from Hel Performance for about £50,you can get in a choice of colours.

The quality looks really good, I thought be easier fit with engine in situ, that's plan for this afternoon.
Can I change the point joint gaiter by removing the CV joint and leave the pot in place. I have removed the innver CV joint from end of half shaft and slipped the wee end over the shaft was planning on filling gaiter with grease. Can you do it this way?
Anyone else up to much?
Cheers
Ronz
