I need to remove the output flanges from the diff but my Haynes manual says there is a bolt in the centre to remove but my 77 Mini doesn’t have these. The flanges appear just to be pushed onto the diff output shafts but won’t pull off using light force. I am wondering if there is an internal circlip similar to those used to hold the cv joints on? If so, any idea how I can remove them and is it possible with the gearbox in the car?

They should be removed just like the pot joints.
