I thought I would write a quick note on safety and general fitment when changing the exhaust manifold on the Transverse A series to an LCB (Long Central Branch)
SAFETY
1) It's very important to upgrade to an electric fuel pump. 2) The pump should always be fitted according to manufacturers instructions, which is almost always going to be a certain orientation/angle and underneath the fuel tank. 3) When fitting pipes and hoses it is important to get decent routing away from heat and or sparks, this allows any fumes to dissipate before they become a fire hazard. 4) Clips should be used to restrain not only the hoses and pipes but also the wiring harness. 5) In all probability a regulator and filter unit is always a good idea to fit on the bulkhead away to the side and again as far away as possible from any heat sources.
Other items to consider,
1) The LCB and the rest of the system may cause a drop in the low end torque caused by a slower air speed, the exhaust gases actually "pull" the new purged gases out of the engine but due to the LCB having slightly larger pipes this gas speed can be slower. 2) The kickdown will need to be modified to suit the new route.
3) In most cases a dyno tune would improve the fuelling and also the timing of the ignition.

What ones actually fit a 1275 auto. I bought a manual version advertised for all engine sizes of course. Basically nothing was right and I will need to find something else. I did do heaps of mods to make it fit but it needs more, really not worth it.

If you have a fuel pump mounted on the block then you really should move it to under the tank for safety reasons. Also the kickdown mechanism will need to be altered to suit.
