Hi can anyone identify what this crosshead bolt is as it seems to have worked itself loose, I have screwed it back but is it vital how far in how tight ect ect . As you can see it's on the front casing of a 1.3 Sprite Automatic 1993, Any help would be appreciated Tthanks Graham

Not sure. I imagine, since it is on the start inhibitor switch, it could be associated with either mounting or adjusting said switch.

There was originally a plate attached to protect the switch or I suppose to look nicer. Simply remove the screw, all it does is hold the plate.
Also FYI it is pozidriv (3) NOT phillips. using the incorrect driver damages screws however in your case it will be loose and won't matter much.

Thanks that's a great help And to know that its not going to cause a bigger problem for me is a relief. Been trying to find info on the automatic box everywhere I can but its rather thin on the ground or I'm looking in the wrong places. Again thanks graham

Just found this in the Rover Mini Repair Manual. Can someone tell me how to insert a pic from my PC?
