Has anyone made an 1100 auto? I have a couple of manual engines that I have no interest in rebuilding as a manual. The biggest issue I see is the fact that the converter should be kept with the crank. The converter I would use is leaking anyway so it might not make a difference.
Is there any other reason not to make it an 1100? Things like torque curves etc?
There is also the option of modifying the 998 but using 1100 parts would be cheaper.
In the future I'd like to try convert a manual block to auto but I don't have a shortage of auto blocks yet.

I can be contacted on sales@ap2.world
1098 auto's used to be available, no need to keep the crank and converter together why would you need to ? no reason why not to build a 1098 auto, just the conrods, pistons and crankshaft are all you need, its the longest stroke engine so has good torque.
Why would you want to convert a manual engine to automatic

Why would you want to convert a manual engine to automatic Why wouldn't I? I have two manual blocks which have rooted or no transmission.

I am pretty sure the factory manuals say to replace the crank and torque converter together.

I can be contacted on sales@ap2.world You can, but unless its a 1275 there is no commercial reason, small block auto engines are still readily available for a reasonable price, from an interest point of view then yes of course

With the prices people want it might even be cheaper to import some. How much are they going for over there?
