Hi, since you have had the car a year I assume that you know how to achieve the correct oil level, the box is sensitive to oil a little low. I like your optimism about the mileage I am sure autoboxes have failed at lesser miles, The problem sounds like clutch slip, if you select 2 manually and take off do you still get the noise? if the noise is still present then its probably coming from the forward clutch, if the noise is not there then its likely the noise is coming from the 1st gear sprag clutch. This forum is a huge fund of information and advice if you look back into the history, you may be looking at doing a stall/ pressure test. clutches are the weak point in the AP box, torque converters are more reliable, you will need a decent manual. Thanks so much. I'll give it a go! Will also take a look through the previous posts and issues others have faced. Cheers.

I can be contacted on sales@ap2.world This is familiar ? I spoke to somebody down your way last week about the same symptoms, the first things to try are the correct oil level, followed by a pressure check, if you have those two sorted the chances are you may have the wrong type of oil, the best is JASO MA2 10W40 semi or fully synthetic. after this then its more likely to need a full rebuild.
