hi everyone, i have recently bought a clubman estate with 998 auto and 1275 auto for spare. the 998 doesn't fired up so i've decide to maintain the 1275 and put it in the car, so i have open the to gearboxes to pick up the better parts of each to make one.
now the 1275 is running but just the rear speed works.
any advice ? alexis

Hi, Was the 1275 out of use for a long time? if so the valve body may have some stuck valves, I'm afraid its the old advice, next step is a pressure and stall test, method is in the manual, look back at some of the old threads I think the same issue has been discussed in the past. Jock

Not sure what you mean, the pressure test needs a gauge that will go up to 200 psi, I think the gauge thread is 1/8 bsp, to do the stall test all you need is an engine rev counter and wheel chocks and a little nerve. Jock

The transmission test port thread is an unusual one, not BSP.
Do not switch parts unless you need to, there are so many differences.
