How do you remove an upper support arm from the subframe when the pivot shaft is jammed? I've managed to free it so that moves about with the housing but it just won't slide through. This is on a subframe which is out of the car so accessibility is not a problem. The spring strut has also been removed so no pressure from the rubber cone. Oh and while I am at it the lower arm pivot pin is jammed on the other side. The rubber bushes seem to have welded themselves to the pin.

Yep big lump hammer knocked it flush with the subframe. Then tried to use a bolt to knock it the rest of the way through, just wouldn't budge. At least you have confirmed one thing for me in that you can just give a big smack. Will persevere in that case.

Got it out eventually, brut force would not do it so I had to cut it. Guess I will have to replace that part then.
