Hiya folks I have been out in Molly today and after driving a while I noticed the oil light began to flicker very dimly but the more I drove the brighter it got. If I rev the engine it does go dim again although it's still there. I've checked my oil and the level seems ok. Any ideas what could be causing this?
Please help.

I would suggest changing the oil pressure warning sender. It might cure the problem (I hope it does *fingies X'ed*) as sometimes these switches become contaminated and/or tired.

................ don't worry about what it ' might be' ... just sort it out - motor maintainance is a lot less scary that way Emma

Its very likely that it is the oil presure switch especially if your engine is sounding sweet, and the gearbox is working fine, I've had to replace mine a couple of times, 10 minute job and only costs about £3. When you put the new switch in I would recomend cleaning and checking the threads carefully, also the new switch can sometimes leave a little bits of metal fiilings which then go straight into you oil if your not careful, as the metal on the switch threads is not always good quality. Use a magnet to remove any little bits of metal, but best to try and stop them getting there first! Hope a new switch solves your problem, let us know how you get on
